Reminder that DOGE mining is 10-20x harder since AuxPow.
posted Oct 3, 2014 at 07:48

Over the last few days I've seen a few people pop in the support channel and ask "wheres my coins!!! this pool is a scam!!".

Trust me, you are mining and getting every coin entitled to you.  DOGE mining is unprofitable ever since AuxPow allowed gigantic Litecoin pools to run the DOGECOIN network.  This is not the pools fault, but all DOGECOIN pools suffer from it as DOGECOIN mining is literally 10x-20x harder because of AuxPow.

If anyone has any uncertainty, please read up on what network difficulty does to miners abilities to get coins.

Thank you!

High difficulty
posted Sep 17, 2014 at 00:03

We've been asked a few times in the last few days regarding the difficulty or the HUGE slowdown in payouts.

This is because Dogecoin has moved to AuxPow, which basically allowed the entire Litecoin network to merge mine Dogecoin, instantly spiking the diff. from 800 to 14,000 +/- 5k.

You can continue to mine here, and you will get the same amount of DOGE that you would on any pool, but its the nature of AuxPow, Dogecoin is very hard to mine now.

Thanks for your understand and support!

Merged mining..

We are working on our plan to implement merged mining from our Litecoin pool to support AuxPow Dogecoin mining aswell.  We will keep our Dogecoin pool operational.

More news coming soon!

AuxPow day

Dogecoin gets the network backing of Litecoin today, AuxPow.

We will be pausing payouts briefly today to accommodate.

We are not going anywhere!
posted Jul 10, 2014 at 11:57

As Dogecoin reaches all time lows for mining profit, many dogecoin pools are closing for various reasons..  We are not.

HashFaster's very premise of operation is to give miners a place to mine!  We run the pools not for profit, but to give new and old miners alike, a safe and reputable place to point their investments.  We are prepared to run the pool at a $0 profit, or even a slight loss.  In the event that we cannot cover our infrastructure costs, we will simple re-engineer our infrastructure accordingly, while still maintaining the same level of service miners expect from us.

Thanks for your continued support of our pool and network of pools!

posted Apr 6, 2014 at 22:14

The DOGE network has increased its confirmation time to 260 blocks when it hardforked to verion wallet 1.6, meaning you will normally have to wait up to 4 hours for your unconfirmed coins to become confirmed in your balances.

We've maintained our original confirmation payout time, of just 50 blocks!  This means your mined coins are available MUCH sooner.

New load balancer put inline
posted Feb 18, 2014 at 17:07

We've moved to a new load balancer, closer to our stratum servers, and in a better network with better protection against the never-ending attacks a popular pool attracts.

You should also notice a faster page load time, as again, the servers are closer together, and on higher performing network connections.

Payouts updates
posted Feb 18, 2014 at 14:35

We've implemented what the Dogecoin dev thinks is a viable fix to to prevent the 1.4.x Dogecoin wallet from having the sync/fork issue we discovered yesterday.  We are taking baby steps because we value our miners and their coins.  We are enabling MANUAL PAYOUTS ONLY for 24 hours, to see how things proceed.

Please ensure you are running the latest Dogecoin 1.5.2 wallet ( and send your coins there (not to an exchange!).

Thanks for your understanding

Update on fork and payouts
posted Feb 18, 2014 at 09:22

There are currently 2 viable wallets versions to run for dogecoin, a v1.4 wallet and a v1.5 wallet. Most pools run the v1.4 wallet as the pay wallets because the v1.5 is SERIOUSLY broken when it comes to pool use (more later).

Yesterday morning a huge block/transaction (nearly 1MB in size) was added to the blockchain and the v1.4 wallets died because they couldn't process that size block. The 1.5 wallets carried on however as they are based on LevelDB which can handle larger TX and so the chain forked... essentially a 1.4 fork and a 1.5 fork.

Now, the issue we have right now is that the 1.4 wallet has been patched to get us past the bad block and we could run that but will simply die again if another large block hits the chain and we will get hit with orphans and ultimately the pool will die. On the other hand there is the 1,5 wallet....

The 1.5 wallet has a huge issue with sending the amount of coins/transactions that a pool sends, this means its currently not something we are willing to use as it will likely cause more issues.

All large pools have the same issue at present and they aren't running payouts either.

Mining is still working fine though and your coins are accumulating, we are just struggling to get them to you at present.

More information will be provided as it becomes available on our progress.

Thanks for your understanding and paitence.

Dogecoin Forked!
posted Feb 17, 2014 at 09:22

Basically to summarize things, your hashing is safe.  Regardless what the website reports, you are hashing on the correct blockchain, 1.5.1 wallet version.  Because of DOGE's dev's inability to test wallets with pools before pushing releases, we and most other pools are forced to use wallet 1.4.x for payouts.  This payout wallet is having sync issues therefore is stuck on a fork.  This is why payouts are being paused.  Once the 1.4.x payout wallet can be fixed or safely upgraded and synced back up, payouts will remain paused.

Don't trust the block/pool stats, as they are all basing their math on the old forked blockchain.  Once the payout wallets can be repaired, all the blocks that are being solved "behind the scenes" will show up and be credited.

I hope this sheds some light on things.

Paused Auto payouts.
posted Feb 5, 2014 at 16:24

UPDATE:  Auto payouts will remain suspended while we address shortcomings with the dogecoin and its performance issue under a high load.

We are pausing automatic payouts while the pool catches up with processing ALOT of blocks.  Will unpause when its caught up and processing blocks on time.

Manual payouts are unaffected and can be used.

Website is back.
posted Feb 4, 2014 at 02:22

Apparently our wallet is too big for Dogecoin 1.5 to handle, so we were forced to revert and resync a 1.4.1 blockchain in doing so.  This is why we kept the website off.  We are processing the blocks which were solved behind the scenes (stratum servers use their own systems to do their mining).

Payouts are being processed but will be slightly delayed as the pool catches up.

Planned Maintenance commeth.
posted Feb 3, 2014 at 11:25

We will be doing backend maintenance and will be pausing payouts/stats up to 2 hour (or as little as 15 minutes) while we do this maintenance. Mining will remain unaffected.  Once maintenance is completed, we will re-enable payouts and processing of stats, etc.

Maintenance window is 12:00PM to 2:00PM EST, Today February 3rd.

Back to normal.. A little longer than I expected due to unforseen DOGE wallet RPC issues (thanks 1.5!!)  We figured it out, however.

New lower-starting-diff stratum servers!
posted Jan 28, 2014 at 22:19

We are in the process of adding more, and lowering the starting VARDIFF for our existing stratum load-balanced cluster.  Over the next 24 hours, we will be bouncing stratum servers (while maintaining atleast 10 in the load balance setup) to enable a starting share diff of 32 (versus 128).  The maximum diff will still be 512 for our public stratum servers.

If anyone has a need, and has a hashrate over 150MH (large farms), we do have private invite only stratum servers that will hand out up to 1024 share diff.  Please email support @ for an invite.

Get paid faster! Lowered confrims to 50.

Missing block true-up.
posted Jan 24, 2014 at 11:33

Last evening, we had a payout issue which forced us to remove a block from the database, this blocks details are: Block 69599 blockhash d67524923b602203545ad70a690fcc5c8fc5ca5c6bed873523b6a159d54dc3c4 for the amount of 56273.15863604 DOGE at 1174.67270053 difficulty found by dg68lxy.

Because there is no easy way to insert this back to be paid under the normal PPLNS calculations, we are going to make it up by running zero fees for 5 hours.  Based on average luck, this should make up for the payout you would have received from that 56k DOGE block.  The root cause was identified and repaired.

We will be running 0% Fees from 3:00PM EST to 8:00PM EST TODAY (1/24/14) to make up for this glitch.

Thank you for your understanding regarding this matter,

posted Jan 20, 2014 at 15:04

We are going to implementing 2FA (two-factor authentication) that will force users to use e-mail verification when changing passwords, pins,  and payout addresses.  We are looking to enable this in 7 days (next Monday 1/27/14).

While this adds another step in changing these options, its also increases security GREATLY.  This essential would prevent someone that knows your pin/password from altering your account.  We will post a news update to remind everyone this coming weekend.

Security Update!
posted Jan 15, 2014 at 16:06

NOTICE: The pool now requires the use of your EMAIL address to login, USERNAME is no longer supported. In addition to this, we've also implemented Email notifications upon successful login.  This is to ensure all users are aware when a login is made, for security measures.  If you notice a login notification and you did NOT login, please login immediately and change your password and PIN as this might mean someone has access to your email address and password.

Load balance bug fixed.
posted Dec 24, 2013 at 13:20

We had a nagging issue (that was more of an annoying issue , than anything else) where some "slower" miners would get stratum disconnects every minute or every few minutes.

After much troubleshooting we've determined this was due to a load balancer client timeout of 50000ms (50 seconds). This means if your miner didnt submit a share within 50 seconds, your load balanced session was nixed. We have since repaired this, increasting the timeout to much larger value and the problem is now resolved.
